Festival Wear

In honor of my amazing boyfriend heading to Delaware with all of his friends for Firefly Music Festival (I am actually dying of FOMO right now) I've created a Festival Wear Guide! I was thinking about whether I wanted to go to this festival for a really long time, and kept coming up with excuses like the tickets costing too much, not being able to get work off, etc. But as soon as my boyfriend left yesterday to drive down, I was instantly regretting the decision to not go. Sometimes, you have to splurge and do things for yourself that you know you are going to love without over thinking it. This seriously taught me to start doing things with no regrets and to just do it. Some of my favorite artists like Deadmau5, the 1975, Grouplove, and soooo many more are attending Firefly and I'm so excited for Michael to see all of them!

If I were going to this festival, I'd definitely be wearing some of the pieces listed above! High waisted shorts are always a must at festivals- call it "basic central" but high waisted shorts are perfect because they show off all of your assets without being too revealing (just make sure you don't get them too small- I encountered that problem and was pretty uncomfortable while wearing them). Wearing them can make any girl feel like 100%.
Ahh the white off the shoulder blouse- another music festival staple. Many have gained the inspiration of Kendall Jenner's Coachella 2014 look with her off the shoulder bell sleeved top- and I'm not going to deny that it looks beautiful on her. There's something about wearing an off the shoulder top- it makes you feel sexy, but not too sexy; like you're showing off just enough. It's also a good top to help keep you cool in the heat.
The platform sandal has always been on my wishlist. I love the way this looks on people and I praise girls who can pull it off. I think with me, I'm already pretty tall as it is so wearing platform sandals would make me feel like I'm towering over people, lol. One day I bet I will just buy them though! Another option for shoes are the sandal espadrilles. They look super comfortable for a day on your feet and really breathable.
As for accessories, you can go wild. I love using jewelry to enhance a look- and in particular I felt that this outfit would be complimented amazingly by gold jewelry. Gold just screams festival to me for some reason. Crossbody bags are also a must- or backpacks. I'd be a little skeptical carrying around a clutch with me at a music festival- way too many opportunities to lose it. Flower crowns- I'm sure about 99.9% of the girls at music festivals are going to be wearing them; but WHO cares?? Y'all can look like gorgeous little garden goddesses all together and make the boys swoon ;) I own a few flower crowns and I love them- obviously super boho/hippie which is kind of the whole theme of music festivals anyways! To come together all as one and enjoy nothing but the music, friends and nature around you.

Let me know if you're going to be attending any festivals this summer and what you plan on wearing; I'd love to hear about it! :)

Summer Cardigan

Long line cardigans are such an essential! Especially for the warmer months. They're perfect to throw over a shorter outfit to help stay warm at night.
The high waisted jeans and high neck crop top are such summer staples as well, and provide a perfect crisp color contrast. I also paired my white Converse with the whole outfit although any shoe would do!

Affordable Beauty Favorites

I love "drugstore" beauty products. Wayyy more than high end ones. They're so affordable and you literally are more than likely going to get the same results! Given, there are some types of products that are definitely worth investing in- for me it's my shadows. I swear by Mac shadows- they're so worth the money! They last all day and are super pigmented. But other than eye shadows- you definitely do not need to be throwing down a ton of money for your beauty products! Keep on reading to find out which ones are my favorite.

My favorite drugstore eye shadow has to be the Maybelline single in the color Linen 15S. After trial and error with a ton of different drugstore brands, I believe Maybelline is one of the best for eye shadows. This shade is perfect for everyday and is a good blending shade as well. Maybelline's formula is also very pigmented so it's totally worth it!

Blush is always so much fun to me! I love the pop of color it can add to a look. For me, I always opt for a rose colored blush and this one from Covergirl is no less than perfect. It is the Covergirl Cheekers in the shade 185 True Plum. This blush is gorgeous and is really pigmented- my definite favorite.

As for pencil eyeliner, I like to use a natural shade. L'Oreal is a brand that is consistently proving themselves to make it to the top of my absolute favorite drugstore brand list. The quality of their products are always amazing and for such an affordable price! This pencil is called the Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner. It's in the color brown- which I love because adding this on my days off adds the most perfect amount of definition to my eyes. To use this for a more formal occasion, I will run a little bit  on the corners of my eye and then take a small pencil brush and smudge it to create a subtle smokey eye. This is an amazing pencil eyeliner.

Another amazing L'Oreal product- the Voluminous Butterfly mascara. This is one of those products that work just as well if not better than high end mascaras. My lashes take on such volume and length when I use this stuff! It's incredible. I've been using this one for such a long time; I'm super brand loyal to L'Oreal products LOL!

Whenever I go out, I always use under eye concealer. My favorite it this Maybelline Fit Me one.  I was using others all throughout high school but none have done such a great job at covering up my dark circles than the Fit Me. It's comparable to the Nars Creamy Concealer one- but this one does just as well.

This is probably one of the best steals ever. I have seen so many of my friends pay like $9+ dollars for a liquid eyeliner- but I discovered the Wet N' Wild Megaliner probably in my sophomore year of high school and have been loyal to it ever since! It is such an amazing liquid eyeliner- it's so pigmented and they just recently changed their brush tip from bristles to a felt tip- which made it even more amazing.

Milani always has the best lipstick and lip liners. They're really pigmented and offer amazing colors! This one is in the shade 43 Pretty Natural.

I hardly wear foundation, but when I do I always opt for a product that is going to help my skin rather than harm it. The Covergirl Clean Oil Control foundation does just that and also looks really natural on the skin.

Current Beauty Hits

So I did some research and found out what the beauty bloggers are currently raving about on social media! My top three favorite beauty bloggers are Rachel Whitehurst, Chloe Morello, and Alix of I Covet Thee. These women are so knowledgeable in the field and I trust their opinions completely! They offer great feedback, reviews + demos, and examples/scenarios of product use.

First up are Rachel Whitehurts' raves. In her most recent Hits and Sh*ts video up on her Youtube channel now, she explains about all of the products shes adoring at the moment and goes into great depth about each one. She is absolutely hilarious, super down to earth and super relatable- go give her channel a watch!

1. Kiehls Nightly Refining Micro Peel Concentrate
"Immediately, the next day my skin felt smoother." Rachel suggests using this concentrate for uneven skin/complexion. The concentrate leaves your skin looking radiant. She also says that you should test it out on your skin first before you use it for sensitive skin users- it can sting a little bit when you first apply it!
2. Mac Lipstick- Chris Chang / Vermillion Vee:
"It's similar to Macs Lady Danger- just slightly more orange." This lipstick has a matte finish and is a great bright orange lip, perfect for summer.
3. Glossier / Moisturizing Moon Mask:
I have always been really interested in Glossier products, they seem to cater to the people with dry skin and ding ding that's me! Rachel says it's, "Fantastic." It's cooling on the skin and it also makes your skin look really bright and well hydrated. Makeup applies really well to the skin after using this product.

The next beauty blogger is Chloe Morello. She is such a great blogger, she has a ton of tutorials up on her Youtube and is amazing at make up. She also has the best skin ever, so I really feel like she knows what she's talking about! Haha.

1. Mia Clarisonic- FIT: She was absolutely raving about this product in her video about how she takes care of her skins breakouts.  She says it gets 6x deeper into your pores and really does a good job at getting all of the dirt and oil out of your skin.
2. Biore Pore Strips: Chloe uses her Clarisonic before using this product with warm water. After she washes her face, she doesn't dry it off but instead puts the strips on her nose. She suggests pulling upwards when taking them off. After that, she finished with the Alpha H Liquid Gold which is a resurfacing and firming treatment.

Alix from I Covet Thee is probably one of the sweetest girls in the world. I could just watch her videos forever and ever. Her voice is so calming and she seriously knows what she's talking about! Her raves come from her video up on her channel called "Get Ready With Me On The Go"

1. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer: Alix says that this product gives full coverage and gets rid of any blemishes and under eye circles that she has. She sometimes even wears it alone.

2. Perricone MD No Blush Blush: I was so intrigued by this product when she first pulled it out to apply it to her face! This is a liquid blush and is a beautiful color. "So pretty and really effortless."

3. Benefit Roller Mascara: "All in one- length, volume, and separation." When I saw Alix apply this to her eyelashes I was amazed! I normally am not one to invest in high end beauty products because my drug store ones honestly tend to do the same thing, (and I once bought Benefit's Better Than Sex Mascara and it clumps my lashes so much! I like my $7 Loreal Butterfly Wing so much more!) But this Benefit product looks like it actually does a lot for your lashes. I think it could have to do with the brushes being different.
4. Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 500: This color is absolutely gorgeous on Alix. It suits her so well. Its a soft blush color- perfect for every day wear.
