Knit Hats & Blanket Scarves

December 3, 2016

Ahhh blanket scarves, the epitome of fall. Yesterday it was SO beautiful out... but I bought this adorable knit hat from my store and have been DYING to wear it so I sacrificed a jacket for a blanket scarf and the hat so that I could finally wear it.

defining your style: capsule wardrobe

November 30, 2016

Recently I've been DYING for new clothes. I just want to start fresh and essentially, that's what I'm trying to do. I am attempting to eliminate the overwhelming, over bearing and over stated pieces in my closet to declutter and make dressing easier for myself. So today, I'm going to be sharing some awesome tips and tricks that I've gathered from research of the best stylists on how to define your own style!

Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

November 9, 2016

Hey y'all! Today I've created two gorgeous outfits for Thanksgiving inspired by P X H :)

This first outfit is super feminine and has soft colors which I love. I love tulle anything, even though I've never had the courage to wear a tulle skirt out yet- I paired this one with this over sized turtle neck sweater. The pop of color in the cross body gives this outfit that "autumn" feel. Also loving the self-tie jackets lately and specifically this camel one

First outfit:

This second outfit is aimed more towards my Piper gals! This red lace dress is stunning and the life of the whole outfit. I paired some patterned tights with it as well as heeled booties and a white fur jacket. All of these colors work so well together!

Some Favorites

November 7, 2016

Have you ever had the urge to pick up the entirety of your closet, put it in a large bucket and set it on fire? 🔥 That is me the majority of the time I am trying to pick out an outfit. Lately, it's been tough for me and I think it's because my style is changing drastically compared to what I own in my closet. I am starting to be drawn to wearing neutral colors and basic styled pieces. I own... not so much of that.

So alas, I've linked some beautiful, "sigh; if only my wallet was limitless and I didn't share a closet with four other girls" pieces. The pieces that I would be buying if I didn't have a car payment due in a few days.

First things first, my style goes from Audrey Hepburn copycat, to Glamour PR rep, to 90's grunge Winona Ryder follower, to boho chic. WHY is it so hard for me to define a permanent style? Like Jenny from Margo & Me or Julia from Gal Meets Glam?

I'll tell ya why. Cause I love clothes, So friggin much. And I get over whelmed and buy too much at once and forget what kind of style I am trying to aim for... (more on this concept later this week; there will be a post dedicated to creating a timeless wardrobe). 💸

While it isn't bad to have variety in your clothing, sometimes the easiest way to get dressed in the mornings are by having pieces that coincide with each other and flow seamlessly with others.
That's why I linked these two stunning black open shoulder tops (first & second). Both are able to be mixed & matched with so many other pieces in your wardrobe.

The white silk v-neck cami is to die for. I would probably never stop wearing it if I had it in my possession. I'd throw over this charcoal grey cardi pictured above and pair it with those crop fringe jeans.. maybe even add the Gucci belt... outfit perfection + simplicity. ✔️

I'm so into cognac lately as well, and I spotted this crossbody recently on a site called Zaful. Have any of y'all heard about it? I wanna buy some pieces from there but I'm a bit skeptical... Leave me your opinions below. Speaking of accessories, I love this dainty necklace from Baublebar- so wearable with any outfit TBH.

Last but not least, I spotted a coat similar to this self-tie one worn by a gal on the train this weekend and immediatley wanted one. She wore hers with some flare black plazzo pants and she honestly rocked it.
Hope you enjoyed today's post❕❤️

Styling Sweaters

October 19, 2016

Sweater weather is here to play (even though two days ago it was almost 80 degrees here...) and I can't be any more excited about it. Today I styled two outfits with gorgeous sweaters as the main attraction! They're styled as according to P x H!

Piper's outfit is super casual. I paired some distressed jeans and a blush over sized sweater. I added some taupe colored booties and a black cross body to complete the look! I am loving the look of suede baseball caps- they're so pretty!

As for Hazels outfit, I styled a black pleated maxi skirt with a chunky knit grey sweater. I'd wear this outfit in a heart beat if I had it in my closet! Delicate accessories like some pearl earrings will compliment the look. I love the way booties look with a maxi skirt in the fall so I added in a texture with these snake print cuties

Fall Accessories

October 18, 2016

'Ahh fall, the season of change and especially the season of dressing to the nines! Fall is so much fun to dress for because there is always so much layering and so many different options. My favorite thing about Boston is seeing all of the gals dressed up in some of the best fall trends. People here are super fashion forward and that makes me happy! So without further ado, these are some of the best fall accessories that you can purchase for this fall season!

1. Tortoise glasses: If you're a glasses gal, tortoise shell glasses are SO in right now. I'm not sure if it's the mixture of neutral colors in the frame that is attracting me so much, but they are friggin adorable!
2. Pins: Have you seen them? They pop in around your peripheral vision every once in a while thanks to the fashion innovator who stays on top of trends.. Yup, those amazing little denim jacket pins. Props to anyone who can pull them off!
3. Chokers: Who are my 90's babies? I'm sure you've seen the stretchy kind of chokers all about, but now they're getting even more intricate and layering them has become the new standard. Chokers honestly look good on anyone and their delicate detail makes it easy to pair with almost anything.
4. Cognac tote: My heart longs for a cognac tote but my wallet says otherwise... cognac is the perfect color for fall and you can't go wrong with a reversible tote.. Talk about functionality!
5. Suede booties: I recently just bought a pair of black suede booties that have the slightest heel because I wanted something easy to wear to work, but taupe colored booties are seriously gorgeous. They scream autumn and pair so nicely with some cuffed skinny jeans.
6.Tassels: Tassels on your neck, tassels on your bag, tassels on your sweater! I love this trend and they give such a unique look to any outfit.
7. Blanket Scarves: I bought the blanket scarf in the photo above from Primark but I hear the one from sole society is a bang for your buck. Blanket scarves are the best fall accessory because it works for so many outfits. I am always wrapping it around me when I'm cold or tucking it in with my big puffy coat.

Hunter Green

September 15, 2016

I got my necklace from Lou Lou a while back- and the circle pendant reminds me of the Dogeared ones! I paired my hunter green tee with my white shorts and I loved the way the two colors complimented each other. I'm also wearing my sandals from Charming Charlie, but I'm sure by now they've probably sold out. If you're ever on the look out for some cute summer sandals, CC is where it's at! I bought two pairs from there and seriously have gotten so much use out of them- I wear each of them on the regular.

I hope you enjoyed today's post! Thanks for visiting.

Fall Trend: Longline Cardigan

September 12, 2016

I think one of the best things I love about fall is the ability to layer your outfits. Longline cardigans are everywhere this fall and they're perfect to add to an outfit to just touch it up.
Add it to some boyfriend jeans with a plain tee, or wear it over a dress when it's chilly out. These babies are a fall must have! I've linked some gorgeous pieces down below! Stock up for this fall :)

A Hint of Fall

September 5, 2016

When Mike & I woke up Friday morning, there was a crisp chill in the air- and we both LOVED it. It felt like fall was giving us a little tease of what's to come and it's making me so excited.
I really love fall for 2 reasons and the biggest reason being the fashion, Fall fashion is seriously so much fun. There's so much layering and combining and more often than not the fall fashion colors are rich and luxurious.
I also love fall because of the festivities that happen- apple picking, decorating pumpkins, seeing the leaves change colors, corn field mazes, going up to the mountains, campfires, cuddling up when it's cold. For some reason ever since I was little fall has always made me feel giddy inside from the moment I wake up in the morning until I go to bed. It's a cozy and comforting season.

We stopped at Pressed Cafe and got some cappuccino's which were really strong and flavorful. Then we visited my mom at work and drove around downtown. (Days like these with Mike are my favorite- the ones where we have nothing planned and a whole lot of time to just wander and get lost and just be with each other).
We ended up going to Best Buy and probably spent a good hour just walking through and looking at everything they had in there- I honestly lost track of time cause I was having such a great time. Then we went into Savers and scored some pretty amazing things (it's our new favorite store)!

I am in love with this burgundy sweater from Ann Taylor. I tried it on during my shift the other day and I honestly loved it. I don't own a lot of reds so me loving this was something special. I also saw myself wearing it with a lot of pieces in my wardrobe so it was a must!

These sunnies are from Charming Charlie and they are the perfect size. I have been looking for a pair of sunglasses literally all summer and couldn't find one that I loved until I found these babies! They're such a steal!

I paired my cardigan with a simple white tank and my high-waist jeans from Hollister. These jeans are so comfortable and soft- I'm so happy I got them. I threw on my loafer look-alike flats that I got from Primark while I was living in Boston. Shop the whole look below!

Link It Friday

September 2, 2016

Happy Friday loves! Hope your week went well. Today I have some gorgeous pieces linked up for you- most things I've been eyeing for a while now! Like those Steve Madden suede block heels... To die for.. (And they come in a ton of other colors). Also this lace-trimmed sweater from Anthro... Stunning. I wish I owned every article of clothing from there.

AT Fall Favorites

August 31, 2016

Can you guess what happened at the store yesterday?? Yup, we got in our newest fall shipment! I'm really loving some of these pieces! Like these quilted booties... Aren't they gorgeous?! I tried them on and they're SO comfortable and the perfect heel height. We got in this burgundy trench coat and it is stunning! I tried on the XS but it was just a little bit too big on me- so if you've got my body type and you're around 5'6 I'd go for the petite sizes!
My boss Carrie and co-worker Kate both looked gorgeous in this tweed cuffed top- it would be so adorable paired with some skinny jeans and those quilted booties! I also tried on this 100% merino wool cowl neck sweater and OMG it is so insanely soft and comfy- perfect for the cooler months!
Ann Taylor KILLED it in the jewelry department for this fall collection! There are a ton of jewel pieces like this ring and these earrings
There are such nice classic pieces in this collection- be sure to stop by your nearest Ann Taylor to get the first dibs on all of the gorgeous new product!

Weekend Diaries: St. Anthony's Feast

August 29, 2016

Boston, MA, USA

The St. Anthony's Feast in The North End is always so much fun. The first time I went was last year in my freshman year of college. It's full of a never ending amount of food, games, and live music. If you live in the Boston area you definitely must check out this festival!

This was on our walk from the train station to the North End. My boyfriend Mike and his friend Erik drove up from Rhode Island and we met in Boston to attend the feast together! (It's so funny, last year we would've been moved into Boston by now, but since we're upperclassmen school doesn't start until a week later).

Another must see attraction in Boston, the Holocaust Memorial. I always get such a rush of emotions when visiting and walking through the chambers- and seeing all of those tiny little numbers run up the entire length of them makes me grateful for the world we live in now (even though times may seem hard atm). I also love walking through them at night and seeing the little "stars" under the grates.

Live music! I met up with my dad at this part because all of our family was watching our cousin play on stage! (He's the second man in playing the electronic drum set).

See all of these tents? All of those are food stands. The selection of food is incredible and as soon as you walk even remotely near the North End all you can smell is garlic and it smells sooo delicious. I ended up getting a bowl of chicken, broccoli & ziti and it was amazing. There's other foods than just pasta though, like calzones, meatballs, subs, chicken dishes, and so much more. I also got some fried oreos at the end which were amazing as well.

I  put together this outfit the night before. This shirt that I'm wearing is so old, like literally it's YEARS old. I think I got it in 7th grade from Wetseal. I just paired it with some white shorts and my slingback wedges and added a colorful bracelet to tie in all of the colors from the shirt!

Have a great Monday :)
